Reflecting in Love's Aftermath

Table of Contents | Print

Reflecting in love’s aftermath
Is an experience in appreciation
For the wonders of love’s gift.
It is a time to collect all the lessons and memories,
Even the ones taken for granted
Till they remain no more.

Though I feel a sadness
For the empty space inside me,
I feel a certain kind of strength,
A confidence,
As I slowly fill that gap with my own self.

I know the last time I felt this gap,
It was so much smaller!
This time, it was stretched to places
I never dreamed of reaching.

I took control
And dared love to take me to its limit!
Never once considering
That on the long walk back to myself,
I would be traveling alone.
